Miami Getaway

Travel has always been something we've been in love with for as long as we can remember! The idea of cities we've never been to and people we've never met has always intrigued us and filled our insides with so much excitement. For us, travel is a way to escape the everyday routines of life....a chance for us to get away for a while and experience things we've never experienced before...an opportunity to make life a bit more exciting! For the longest time we've dreamt of going to Miami, Florida--in fact, we've been speaking it out loud for a few years now. At the end of August, we finally got our chance, with our brother and his now wife deciding to hold their wedding there! Not only was the wedding absolutely beautiful, but our time in Miami was amazing! From the sights and scenery, to the various people, languages, and cultures, we can honestly say that we've fallen in love with this place! This trip has definitely changed our perspectives on a lot of things. Not only has it helped us realize that there is life beyond what we experience on a day-to-day basis, but there's a whole world of people out there than just the types we encounter everyday. It has also allowed us to realize that the possibilities that life has to offer are endless, and to never be afraid to take chances! This trip has really inspired us to get out there and truly live life. Miami has given us nothing but positive and wonderful vibes, and we can't wait to go back again! We hope you guys enjoy this peek into the awesome experience we had :)

Miami bound! After breakfast in the airport in Baltimore

Soaring the skies! Thank goodness for turbans/headwraps! They're such a chic and convenient accessory to play up your look--especially when traveling or on-the-go :)

Finally in Miami!

We fell in love with the colorful buildings and Spanish-style homes! The Latin influence here is amazing!

Super gorgeous palm trees :)

Our home for the next three days! The stay here was so pleasant and the staff was super friendly. One cool thing we noticed was that everyone wore a name tag that displayed where they were from. Many were from all over the world, including Haiti, Dominican Republic, Cuba, New York, and Africa--so diverse!

We had the city-view room, but we could still catch a peek of the pretty beach from the opposite end. While some may think the city-view is boring, we actually found it to be quite nice. It was so entertaining people-watching and catching all of the action that took place below!

The street view--look at that gorgeous sky!

Beachin' it!

The palm trees here are everything!

Sundown :)

The maxi and asymmetrical trend has been everywhere this summer, and of course, we couldn't help but jump in on the fun! These looks are easy-breezy, super chic, and definitely helped us stay cool through all the humidity. Along with our turbans/headwraps, gold accessories did just the trick to play up these looks--and even gave them a global/exotic spin!

Breakfast at The Front Porch Cafe! The atmosphere here is amazing and the food is absolutely delicious!

French toast, bacon, eggs, and a beautiful side of  fruit :)

Some sight-seeing after breakfast! The colors on these buildings are so unique!

The view from our brother and his wife's room :)

Beachin' it: Round 2! Gettin' artsy :)

Some brother/sister shots the day before the big day!

A toast to Miami, brother/sisterhood, love, and happiness :)

Bienvenidos a Miami!

The big day--WEDDING DAY!

Our wedding/reception outfits! These A-line skater dresses were the closest thing to perfect for this day! Not only were they light, but the skater bottoms added a fun flair to such a beautiful event! To top things off, we went for strappy heels and gold accents. Can you say "twinning"?

Can you tell that we were in love with these florals? What a romantic set-up!

The cake was so good! Each layer was a different flavor!
